Transhipping

Transhipping

Sea Swift utilises our fleet, including shallow-draft and roll-on-roll-off vessels, to load and discharge cargo to or from vessels at anchor or ashore.

Tug and Barge arrangements are used to transport bulk products from a wharf or landing to a vessel at offshore anchorage. This transhipping arrangement generally requires the use of a vessel crane. Sea Swift have several vessels that are custom-made for this arrangement and for transporting cargo to customers, communities or other vessels.

Sea Swift have completed successful transhipping operations with oversized cargo, including heavy duty construction materials and many other items that have difficulty in loading.

Transhipping in Northern Australia is important for Sea Swift to facilitate due to challenging landing or weather conditions and common offshore anchorage.
