NOTICE: Strong wind warning – FNQ

9 September 2021

Many of customers between Cairns and the Torres Strait will be feeling the effects of the Bureau of Meteorology Gale and Strong Wind warnings. Sea Swift wishes to advise customers that some services have been impacted.

Currently Dauan and Erub (Darnley) will not be serviced this week as it is unsafe for our landing craft – MV Fourcroy and Malu Titan – to access the ramp. At this stage we will look at servicing these communities next week, and in conjunction with CEQ look at alternate means of ensuring that these communities do not run out of essential freight, such as food.

Our coastal service ex-Cairns will be affected, and customers will be contacted by their respective Account Managers to keep them up to date on changes to the schedule.

Sea Swift’s website is being updated as new arrival times are advised by the fleet, and it is recommended that customers monitor the site for updates:

Information on the weather situation can be found at the Bureau of Meteorology website:

Sea Swift’s priority as always, is the safety of our team and our customers and are working with authorities and other partners to ensure that communities do not run out of essential services.

Sea Swift will continue to keep our customers informed if there are any changes to our services.
