Sea Swift adds new vessel to fleet for NT operations

Northern Australia marine transport company Sea Swift has added a new vessel to its extensive fleet with the acquisition of another landing craft for its Northern Territory operations.

The 48-metre Tiwi Islander becomes the 28^th vessel in Sea Swift’s fleet, and will increase the company’s network capacity across the Territory for sea freight and charter services.

Sea Swift Northern Territory General Manager Scott Ezzy said the Tiwi Islander would have a positive effect on the region’s shipping services.

“The vessel is a quality-built landing craft with very good capacity, and will ply the waters of the Northern Territory for many years to come, servicing our valued customers,” he said.

“Vessels are notoriously expensive to operate and maintain, and unless you focus 100 per cent on preventive maintenance, then you really fall behind, impacting overall safety and service levels.

“Sea Swift has the youngest company-owned fleet of any operator in the Northern Territory, and customers can rely on Sea Swift to be safely on time, every time.

“We’re making a significant investment into the Northern Territory with the introduction of the Tiwi Islander, and this reflects our indisputable long-term commitment to the region.”
