Northern Australia shipping company Sea Swift is pleased to announce it has resecured a long-term contract with Puma Energy to deliver bulk diesel to remote community power generation sites across the Northern Territory.
The contract will see Sea Swift deliver fuel to Power and Water Corporation’s power generation sites at Galiwinku, Gapuwiyak, Maningrida, Milikapiti, Milingimbi, Milyakburra, Minjilang, Wurrumiyanga, Numbulwar, Pirlangimpi, Ramingining, Umbakumba, and Warruwi.
Sea Swift General Manager Northern Territory Scott Ezzy said the company has a proud record of providing reliable fuel and freight services into remote NT coastal and island communities.
“The award of this contract assists us in providing sustainable services all year round to all remote communities serviced by barge,” Mr Ezzy said.
“Our customers have acknowledged that our safety and environmental record, quality assets, network strength, and regular and consistent services across all communities is unmatched in the region.”
Sea Swift’s fuel distribution across Northern Australia is well over 70 million litres, with significant fuel storage and mobile assets delivering to remote power generation sites, retail, fishing, defence, and mining customers.
Mr Ezzy said the fuel Sea Swift delivers to NT’s remote communities is used to provide power to key infrastructure such as council, business, schools, health centres, and homes.
“We are also able to deliver more fuel and freight due to our extensive network throughout the Northern Territory, and we believe local residents feel the benefits,” said Mr Ezzy.
Sea Swift operates throughout the region’s remote coastal and island communities, with depots in Darwin, Gove and Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, and Cairns, Weipa, Seisia, Horn Island, Badu Island and Thursday Island in Queensland.
